I
My parish is composed of people
like you and me.
Together, we make it what it really is.
It will be friendly, if we are friendly.
Its seats will be filled, if we help to fill them.
II
My parish will be generous to worthy causes,
If I am a generous giver.
It will draw other people to worship,
If I entice them by good example.
III
My parish will be a place of loyalty and love,
Of courage and life-giving faith,
Of nobility of spirit and concern for others,
If I am filled with these same qualities.
IV
My parish will become all things to all mankind,
If I dedicate myself to the task,
Of becoming the kind of person That God, in His Wisdom, wants me to be.
